Group benefits with Alan

Benefits that help you
keep good people.

From a 2-person shop to a growing team, Alan explains your options and runs the numbers so you can offer health benefits without guessing.

Three common ways to cover a team.

Traditional

Group health plan

One plan, or a few, that the company sponsors and helps pay for. Familiar to employees, and the classic recruiting benefit.

Flexible

ICHRA or health stipend

You set a monthly amount and employees choose their own individual plan. Predictable cost for you, more choice for them.

ICHRA in two minutes
Add-ons

Dental, vision & life

Low-cost extras that round out a benefits package, with or without a medical plan.

How a group quote works.

Send a census

A simple list of employees with ages and ZIP codes. A spreadsheet is fine.

We quote it

Group plans, ICHRA and stipend options priced for your actual team.

We walk through it

Line by line: what you'd pay, what employees would pay, and what they'd get.

We handle renewals

Every year we re-shop your renewal so you're not stuck with a rate increase.

What clients say

★★★★★
Oran took care of my employees with health insurance they didn't think they could otherwise afford. As an employer it didn't cost me a dime and my employees are truly grateful and, more importantly, now have health insurance.
Mark Haroldsen , employer
★★★★★
I highly recommend talking with Oran about health insurance options. He is very knowledgeable about marketplace plans as well as private health insurance. He took the time to talk with each employee in our small company, then put together a plan that was best for us. He was so patient with all my questions and scenarios.
Jen Oxenham , small business owner
★★★★★
I have been very happy working with Oran and his team. He has always been very fast to respond to my messages and has helped me shop options for my family and business over the last few years.
Brendan Murton , family and business owner

Small business benefits questions

How many employees do I need to offer group health insurance?
In most states, including Utah, a group plan can start with as few as one or two employees who aren't the owner's spouse. Small-group rules usually cover businesses with 1 to 50 employees.
What is an ICHRA?
An Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement. The business sets a tax-free monthly allowance, employees buy their own individual plan, and the business reimburses them. Costs are predictable for the employer and employees pick the plan they want.
Do I have to offer health benefits?
Businesses with fewer than 50 full-time-equivalent employees aren't required to. Many still do because it helps hire and keep people, and premiums are generally tax-deductible for the business.
How much does a small group plan cost?
It depends on the ages and ZIP codes of your team and how much of the premium you contribute. Send us a simple census and we'll quote group plans, ICHRA and stipend options side by side so you can see the real numbers.
What's the difference between a stipend and an ICHRA?
A stipend is taxable extra pay employees can spend however they like. An ICHRA is tax-free for both sides but must be used for health coverage and follows IRS rules. We'll show both for your team.
Can I add dental, vision and life?
Yes. Those are low-cost add-ons that round out a benefits package, and they can be offered with or without a medical plan.
