Medicare with Gordon

Turning 65 shouldn't
feel like a test.

Gordon helps you understand Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Supplements and drug plans, then picks the combination that fits your doctors, prescriptions and budget.

The pieces of Medicare.

Part A

Hospital

Inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing and hospice. Most people pay no premium for it.

Part B

Medical

Doctor visits, outpatient care and preventive services. It has a monthly premium.

Part C

Medicare Advantage

All-in-one plans from private insurers that replace A and B, often with drug coverage and extras.

Part D

Prescription drugs

Drug coverage you add to Original Medicare, or that comes built into many Advantage plans.

Medigap

Medicare Supplement

Helps pay the deductibles and coinsurance Original Medicare leaves behind, for more predictable costs.

Timing

Enrollment windows

Your first chance is the seven months around your 65th birthday. Missing it can mean lasting penalties.

Already on Medicare?

Plans change every year. During the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 to December 7) you can switch Advantage and drug plans. A quick review often finds savings or better drug coverage.

Medicare questions, answered

When should I sign up for Medicare?
Your Initial Enrollment Period is the seven months around your 65th birthday: three months before, your birthday month, and three months after. If you're still working with employer coverage, you may be able to delay Part B without a penalty; we'll check your situation.
What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces Original Medicare with a private plan that usually has a network, copays and often drug coverage, for a low or $0 premium. A Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare, lets you see any doctor who takes Medicare, and covers most out-of-pocket costs for a higher monthly premium.
Do I need a Part D drug plan?
If you don't have other creditable drug coverage, yes. Going without it can mean a permanent late-enrollment penalty added to your premium. Many Advantage plans include drug coverage; with a Supplement you add a separate Part D plan.
Can I change my Medicare plan every year?
Yes. During the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7, you can switch Advantage and Part D plans for January 1. Supplement changes can require health questions after your first six months on Part B, so we plan those carefully.
Does it cost anything to work with Gordon?
No. Our Medicare help is free. We're paid by the plan you choose, and your premium is the same whether you use us or enroll on your own.
What should I bring to a Medicare call?
Your Medicare card (or your Part A and B start dates), a list of your doctors, your prescriptions with dosages, and your pharmacy. That's enough for Gordon to compare every plan in your county.
